Chennai: This year’s prestigious India Today Group- Healthgiri award 2021 has been conferred to World Vision India for their contribution in fighting the pandemic in the country. India Today, the country’s leading media group had been recognizing
grassroot people/ organizations every year through “Healthgiri Awards”. This year the awards was conferred to salute the invincible spirit of corona warriors who have led the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic in the country. World Vision India has bagged the award under the Category BEST CHILD CARE/SUPPORT as an organization that has helped children impacted in COVID-19.

On 2nd October 2021, Madhav Bellamkonda, CEO & National Director, World Vision India received the award along with Sony
Thomas, Group Director, Resource Mobilization and Public Engagement (RMPE), World Vision India which was presented by Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, Hon’ble Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Madhav said, “559545 households across the country benefitting 16,80,149
children were supported through our COVID response programming. We are grateful for this award, as we are recognized for standing by India's children who were devastated/impacted by COVID 19. This is a great motivation for us to continue our scope of development work that provides a future in which every child has a fair chance in life - a more efficient, reliable and real-time relief for the benefit of children and families affected by the pandemic”. Receiving the award, Madhav Bellamkonda thanked all the partners and supporters who had placed their trust in World Vision India's work which helped translate child well-being principles into concrete positive realities for children.

The Healthgiri Awards 2020 is the reincarnated version of the India Today Safaigiri Awards, held annually on
October 2.
